How do I desolve or close an s-corp?

I am 78% owner and President of an s-corp based in North Carolina. the only other officers, a Director owning 22% of the stock, and Secretary are inactive I am the only employee and due to health problems I can only operate it about one day a week at half speed. The s-corp has no outstanding liabilities. I would like to disolve or close the s-corp and continue working the one day a week. The s-corp has only made a small profit one of it's thirteen years in business. Will the law let me just stop the operation and let the assets sit idle and no longer file taxes on the corporation?

Thank you and best wishes.
