Is a gift or and settlement given to an employee tax free
I have been told that if a company gives you a cash settlement that it is not taxable is this correct? I am beening forced to retire and the company is offering me a cash settlement to go away they said that it is not taxable please inform me if this is true
or is there a different term that it can be called that is make it tax free like gift or something?
