Milage and driving time to deliver paper work

I work for a company and have to drive 11 miles every Friday. I work on commission and don't get paid for milage or my time to drive those miles and deliver the paper work. Is this legal for my employer to demand of me?

It can be legal, though you can claim it as unreimbursed miliage. Current rate is something like $.485 per mile.

At the very least you may be able to claim a mileage deduction on your taxes each year. Currently the IRS allows a $0.585/mile allowance. There are rules around claiming this but basically if its work related driving, for which you are not reimbursed that is NOT a daily commute then you can claim it.

If you work strictly for commission and auto, gas, and mileage are not a part of your agreement, you are not entitled to mileage. It is legal.

Perhaps look for a position that provides and auto and mileage.

Good luck!
