Private foundations

Can a private foundation which is nonprofit, be a subsidiary of a for-profit corporation?

If the non-profit is able to stand on its own as a legitimate business, it should be able too. you just have to wonder why the profit wants to have a non-profit like that under them.

To respond to your question the principles believe it would be easier for them. I have however found the answer I was looking for. It cannot be a subsidiery of a for profit company because of the inurement and because of the interested parties.
