What can I do about an employer creating a hostile work environment

My employer has brought in his mother -in-law into the office as the new office manager. She knows nothing about running the office and she doesn't do anything and is running around like she owns the place threatening to fire people, getting into people's faces and telling us she can have us fired. Telling everyone she has the boss in her hip pocket and he won't get rid of her because she knows too much on him. She is constantly ridiculing everyone and jumping all over people for no reason. I can't stand to work there anymore. I used to like to go to work until now. It is so stressful I can't sleep and none of my collegues know what to do.
