What is the difference between a LLC and S-corp?

Or even a sole proprietorship? I'm thinking about a starting a business and I'm not sure what kind of business is right for me.

LLC's are easier to operate as they provide flexibility. Plus, doing your taxes is easier with an LLC as you do it once a year. An advantage of S Corps is that you might pay lower employment taxes (assuming you hire employees) -- but, you'll have more time consuming paperwork. The best advice is to consult with a CPA as everyone's situation is a little different.
