We have a salaried employee who wants to take a day off before she has vacation time available can we not pay her for the day?

She has worked less than 6 months for us. As a salaried exempt employee ( she makes $663.46/week) we ask that she work between 40 and 45 hrs/week.

I would offer that to her, and it would look great on your part for it. or else maybe working something out, where this day would come out of her vacation time when she does accrue a day, or else count it as sick time.
