Will it be a true reality that some day there will be cities built underwater?

World population is growing fast. It is possible that in the future there will be enough room on land for people to live. Living underwater is an alternative. Will this come true?

World's population is growing, but I don't think that a time will come when there will be no room for the creatures on land. If you believe in nature then it won't happen. Nature have its own laws, one can not get against the laws of nature. The nature will automatically find a way out to solve this problem, and who knows that at that time there will be any life on earth? No body knows the future. and underwater cities in my opinion doesn't make any sense. then can not be created and humans can not survive underwater in the shape of cities and communities.
Just imagine how can it be possible to have an underwater city? will it be water proof? And if the wall of any house leaks and the water start coming in then will they all die? In my opinion there is no point in thinking about an underwater human life. Even if we are provided oxygen and food underwater somehow still we can not survive there as a permanent civilians. Our skin is not suitable for water.

We already have the engineering know-how to build underwater hotels, which are essentially sleeping compartments a few feet under the surface of the water with viewing portals. See Jules' Undersea Lodge in Key Largo, Fla., the Poseidon Undersea Resort in Fiji, and the Utter (Otter) Inn in Vasteras, Sweden. Another of somewhat more ambitious design (not yet built) is the Hydropolis in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

The difficulty and expense of creating functioning human habitats in foreign environments, however, is what ultimately doomed manned space travel. Underwater habitats aren't nearly as exotic as those in space, but they must still be supported by land-based infrastructure. Put another way, humans are not adapted to living in and under the water; we're not marine creatures. So while we can construct boats and submersibles to take us there, I find it implausible to suggest that underwater cities are a reasonable solution to our problems on land.

I believe that for cities to be built underwater, human beings would have to undergo a terrific mutation process so that we can all have proper gills grown in our bodies to help us breathe underwater. Besides, some other aspects of our anatomy could also change like who would need legs to commute, a mermaid-like tail would suffice!

A very small part of the world population would be able to stick to vegetarianism and the concept of cooking would be extinct. Unless all such dramatic things happen, we neednt worry about this problem.

Going by the rate of Global Warming, it is not unlikely that our planet could be completely submerged in water in a few million years. On the bright side, we would be long gone to witness it!
