Am I able to move out of state with my 2 children?

My ex and I have two children together and we were never married. I have had the opportunity to move to South Carolina and am looking forward to moving. The children's father is not happy about my idea to move ( which I can understand) but he hasn't even given me the chance to explain anything. He just doesn't like the fact of another man "raising his children". I really would like to move to provide my children with a better life, better house, better schools, better EVERYTHING! He already got a sheriff to kick me out of the house we bought together. Now he has threaten to file for joint-custody on June 24. That's is when our Child Support hearing is. He said that if he files it would be illegal for me to move out of state with the children, which I know is true unless I put that issue in front of a judge. But I don't have that much time. I am not for sure what to do right now. I want to move to South Carolina from Ohio WITH my children. He told me I can leave them up here and I can move. I am not leaving my children with him and his alcoholic parents! PLEASE HELP!
