Most states have laws that allow the judge to enforce the wishes of the child of a particular age, usally between 11 and 15, if the court does not find the parent unfit, most judges will honor a childs wish. However, you may want to consider having the court appoint a guardian ad litem for your children, this is an attorney who will act on your childrens behalf, that person is your childs attorney, and will make recommendations to the court based on what is best for the child/children and the childs wants.
