Child Custody in Mississippi

My friend is in the army and his wife was unfaithful while he was deployed. Since then he has learned of her activities and wants a divorce. She tried to prevent this by attempting suicide whike her children were there. She is wanting full custody of both minor children. Is this possible? Does he have a fighting chance? Any information will be greatly appreciated

Thanking you in advence,

He's got great options and the military can assist. He's already got a case of mental instability on her part as reason he should get help. He should go to the JAG office on post and get help. If they can't help, have him contact the Veterans Assistance Officer of the county he lives in. In any event, he has a real fighting chance not because she was cheating on him, but because of what she did with the children in the home. That's endangerment.

Most courts want both parents to be active in the children's lives, and will split up the time between households, assuming that both parents are stable. If she tried to commit suicide the court would have to determine her mental state, which could change everything.
