Child Support after high school?

My son will be graduating next year and his father refuses to help with his college tuition and I can't afford to do it on my own is there any laws that can make him continue to pay child support after he is 18 years old if he is going to college?

You can take him back to court and have an order for help until he has graduated college. It will need to amend the first order which says he is done at 18. Good luck!

Depending on the state, and how the child support was written, you could continue to collect child support while he is in college through the age of 21 or so.

there are always loans and grants and what not if he wants to go to college that badly.

The law is that you pay child support until you reach the age of 18. The only thing your son can do is talk to his dad and ask for help. He can also apply for a student loan or a grant. They will deem the incom of the both of you for a student loan but the grant does not have to be repaid.
