CHILDSUPPORT OVER THE AGE OF 18

We live in IL, we have a 17 yr old that will turn 18 in October, our childsupport will end, we have received a court order to appear in court to continue to pay childsupport until June the following year she will then be 18yr 8months. Will we have to pay or what is the law in IL on this issue, she was living with us in Sept but has since moved in with her mother (mother threatned to not let her see her brother who is bedridden)

If you got something from the court in regards to the orignal child support order all you can do is go to that court hearing and find out why the support is being raised. Just because your ex wants it does not mean she would get it. The only time that the court usally will raise it is if the child has already turned 18 and still in school sometimes the courts will make you pay until they gradurate from high school.
