Yes not only can they charge you but they can add on a 12% interest on all back errears. There is no way that you are going to be able to get a judge to reduce orr take away those errears. If your ex was never on state benifits then she may be able to take the erreaars off by going to the child support services. If you owe to state then child support services sometimes you settle ith the non-custodial parent allowing a set amount to be paid.
