Yes, you can get child support. You just have to file for child support like anyone else would, regardless that the dad is off in the air force.

If you intend to file for child support you need to know that unless there has been a court ordered support already in force you are not going to get any back chid support. There has been a knew law that passed a couple of years ag stating that if there was not already a child suport order in effect then you could only be able to get chils support from the time you file. So you would only get it for 2 years if your filing on a child that is 16. You need to just file actually when recieving child support from someone in the service is a good thing,you never have to worry about getting your payments.
