What are the chances of being granted a move away

I have sole custody or my 2 year old daughter, and i want to move out of the state. The father wants to prevent move away.

If you ex has visitation rights, but not shared legal custody, he still has parental rights. If the move will infringe on his visitation (make it harder), you will need to get court approval to move. You need to prove this is in the best interest of your child and show how your ex can continue to have visitation and a relationship. See an attorney to discuss your state's rules. If your ex does not have visitation then you can move because it won't affect his rights to visit.

This happened to me. I needed a letter from my lawyer drawn up for my sons to move out of state. Sorry to say but, by law you are only allowed to move 40 miles from the father. If he says no and won't sign it your stuck. I'm sorry.
