Child visitation

How does a father obtain visition of a child without a court order when mother is refusing to allow child to visit with father. The mother of the child is using the child as a pawn to upset father, otherwise there is no reason to withhold visitation. This is happening in Madison County, Illinois.

There is no way. he needs to go to family court and file. The mother technically has all rights to child. But if mother is deny visitations to father he needs to take legal action as soon as possible

Thanks, I thought so. The legal action is under way, so hopefully this will be over soon!

I hope all goes well. the other thing would be if you are a witness to this type of action get involved, write a letter in detailed information with dates as much as possible and have him do the same thing. get it notarized or get in touch with legal aid to have them go over it and get it signed. then present it at court or add it to the file. i wish your this father all the best.

My husband went through something very similar and my best advice would be to follow through with the legal part and keep track of everything, every phone call made to the child whether denied or not. We keep a notebook of everything, it could really help.

It is very sad that people use their children as pawns or weapons against eachother after a divorce, a divorce is already rough on a child .if parents would make an effort to get along with each other for the sake of the children everybody involved would be better off, especially the children.
