Do I have to have other parents permission to change schools?

We hae joint legal custody and I have primary physical custody. I would like to move the children about 20 minutes away to a new school system. This is actually the school my son started Kindergarten in, but I had to move after the divorce. The father is not involved at all in the school functions etc. Do I have to have his permission to change? We live in Indiana. Thank you.

If you think that he will be upset by it, then yes he should be informed. Joint legal custody means he has 50% of the say in decisions on schooling, medical treatment, etc.

Well, I don't think he'll be upset by it, if he contests it would just be his way to be difficult. I would tell him we were moving schools, but just wondered if he could stop me. Or do I just have to notify him before I do? Thanks.
