Do I need permission from my ex to leave my daughter with a babysitter?

My ex and I have joint custody of our 7 year old daughter. During one of my scheduled days with my daughter I have recently had to start working for a couple hours and so I had my boyfriend watch my daughter at my house while I was gone. While my boyfriend and I don't live together we've been dating for quite some time and he's spent alot of time with my daughter. Obviously, I've checked with her to make sure she was comfortable staying by herself with him. My ex though is trying to tell me that I can't leave her with him. Do I need his permission to have someone I trust babysit her?

You don't need his permission, as long as you trust your boyfriend you are fine.
