The military recruiter should be able to assist you with this. I was in the military, so I will do my best to help.
The military requires something called a family care plan. The military requires you to list the plans for the child while you are in training or in case you are ever deployed. In this plan, you can list whoever you choose to take care of your child while you are in training.
Now you have to ensure that you don't currently have a parenting plan in place with the child's father. If you do have a court ordered plan, then you have to abide by it. But if the father is not in the picture, you can designate your mother as the child's care giver while you are in training.
