Does the father need to be on the birth certificate in order to have to pay support

My fiancee has a child in another state. she does not allow him to see her or anything and he is not on the birth certificate. In order for her to get support, does she need to prove this? And if he decides to give up parental rights does he still pay child support?

No, he doesn't have to be on bitrh certificate to pay child support as my husband does. But she does have to prove that he is the biological father. Usually court orders a DNA test when a woman files a motion for child support. I believe he will still have to pay even if he give uo parental right.
My husband ex doesn't let him see so, we had to go to the court to get a visitation right.

I know sometimes it feels like you want to just forget about his past and move on with just a two of you, but the child needs both parents. She needs to know that she is loved by both parents no matter how much they hate each other, so why not support him, so that he can be a good daddy to her?

Nope. My ex has to pay and he is not on the birth certificate. The court did a DNA and he didn't show up for it so they took my word and went by dates and declaired him the father and he pays!
