DCS's primary responsibiliy they will tell you is to keep the family intact. They must help her with rehab, therepy etc.. They can also require her to take UA's for them on a regular bases, take parenting classes and be visited often by a home worker. A judge will not remove children that are not in physical danger, and even then will require DCS to work with the mother for the quick return of her children.
