Father is taking me for split placement and joint custody/mother filed for sole custody and wants visitation to stay the same.

Father was released from prison in june of 2006. was there for 5 years.
paternity was established in may 2004 while father was incarcerated.
father pays court ordered child support 36.92 a week.
father has been verbaly abusive to mother on numerous occations.
mother has included father in school but father fails to include his self and he is saying mother excludes him from everything.
mother also included father in surgery of son and father got doctors note for work so he could go to universal studios in florida while mother took care of son. he left from the hospital to go there.
father is a muslem but is asking for holidays. mother has always made all decisions for child and child has always lived with mother. visitation is currently everyother weekend.will things stay the same?

Well it will be up to the court to make the final ruling. The judge will take your feelings into consideration. It sounds like he has alot of serious issue's and the chances of him changing the orignal order is not likely,you just need to make the court aware of verbal abuse,that is imporantant. Depending how old the child or children are the court will also listen to how they feel about their father and their visits,hopefully he is not verbally abusive to the children. I would not worry to much,the judge is going to only do what is in the best interest of the child or children.
