Father not using visitation

I have custody of child and father has visitation. Father has had no contact for about 4 years. Father recently texted messaged me and we began to talk about starting visitation agian. The father has since stopped contacting me and I need to know what my options are to stop his visitation rights until my son is old enough to handle inconsistent visitation from the father.

You would probably need to go to the courts and update the custody agreement to remove his visitation privileges.

To protect your child, I agree that you should have his visitation rights removed until he can be consistant.
