Grandparents custody rights in nc.

Nc has moved my grandson around to different places trying to get the mother to do the right things to be able to keep her child.nc pertective custody has placed the child and mother with me in sc. after one week the mother left and i kept him for another several weeks before dss called me asking me to bring him to dss in nc for a meeting with the mother,dss pertective serv,my daughter,and the mother,s aunt and her boyfriend. the reason for this was to try again with the mother and place her back with the baby at her aunt and boyfriends home. the mother went to her aunt,s home would not do anything dss had asked her to do. after one week the mother took off and left the baby with her aunt and boyfriend. now dss is going to take her back to family court ,and let the judge determine where the baby should be placed. the mother was here at my home the other day and signed a paper stating i could have custody untill she could straighten out her life. we also had the paper nortorized by a notory at a bank in nc. now the aunt,s boyfriend called me tonight telling me that now i won,t be able to see him untill the judge decides what to do.and i had been given permission to see him and take him home on weekends ,by the baby,s mother and the aunt where the baby lives. my son is the baby,s father ,but unfortunatly he is incarcerated at least untill august of this year. my son and the baby,s mother had agreed together to let me have custody untill they could get their lives straighten.
