Grandparents rights

My daughter is trying to keep my 3 month old grand daughter from me. I live 3 hrs away from her and when i get my grand daughter i have had her for 2-3 weeks at a time. I think I have had her more than her mom has since she was born. Mom is young 19 and has a dope smoking violent in and out of jail boyfriend who is the daddy and also has 3 other kids that he doesnt support. He is 21 and wont keep a job. My daughter is constantly calling asking for money for food, minutes on her phone, diapers for baby etc. I want to no what my rights are as a grandparent. I live in MS
All I want is to be able to see my grand daughter..... help

Your rights depend on the state in which you reside. Every state has a different rule.

Some states will give visitation to the grandparents if the child have lived with them for a period of time. You need to talk to an attorney or social services and advise it is in best interest of the child, to have regular vistation.

If you have evidence the child is in danger or being abused, it is your responsbility to report your daughter to social services for the protection of a minor. You can talk to a social worker to see if you could obtain temporary custody, if this is what you want, in lieu of being placed in foster care.
