How do I get my daughters mother to pay child support?

I have custody of my daughter and her mother, my ex-wife, is supposed to pay me a mere $25 a month. She has only paid me once in the last five years. She does not work and is a drug user. She has a doctors note that says she can't work because of mental problems. I feel she is milking the system. How do I get the judge to make her work or at least make her go to a neutral doctor to see if she can work.

If you have a court order stating that she is to be paying $25.00 a month and she isn't paying it, you can go back to court and file a violation of a court order of support. As far as the judge "telling" her to get a job if she has a Doctor's note stating that she is not able to work, I don't think it will happen! I'm sure there is something that she would be able to do as far as a job, but the courts look at it differently than you and I would. I have seen many people milk the system like this, but maybe if you bring up the drug use and other things in front of the judge, maybe he will force a court ordered evaluation of her and go from there. There is no harm in trying! Good luck to you!
