How do I receive temporary custody of my grandchildren?
My daughter has 2 children and is 5 months pregnant with twins. and is a single mom.She was placed in county jail monday for unpaid fines and not doing her community service or probation. One of her friends has the two children now, my daughter will be in jail at least 6 months or longer. She lives in tenn, and I live in oklahoma. How do I go about getting custody of the children and of the babies when they're born? My daughter was tested in elementary school years ago, and was classified as mentally retarded, although the school only listed learning disabilities on her paper work, she was always in special education all through school. Would any of this information help or harm her in the jail system? would it help or harm her for the dhs to know this? I would like to help her and my grandbabies the best possible way, without causing more problems for her by sharing any of this information? any advice is appreciated and how to go about the process.
