How do I recieve child support for my son since he's moved in with me from his mom's house?

I've been paying child support for my son for over 10 years. He is now 14 years old and have been living with me for about six months. I was giving this adjustment period time to make sure everything was working out with him living here and starting high school, but now I really feel the need to approach his mom for child support. How do I tactfully approach this subject anb what can I expect from the court system if it goes that far?

Until you file a motion with the court telling them that your son has been with you the last six months and that you now want sole custody, you can't ask for child support and you will need to get the custody of your son and at that time the judge will drop your child support and order the mother to pay,if the court gives you custody, if you have not been paying any child support for the last six months you may still be liable if you did not notifly the court that your son was living with you. So you need to file ASAP.
