How do I set up a divorce and custody so that my husband is NOT required by Georgia state laws to pay child support?

I'm a teacher and he's in the Air Force. we have two children, 9 and 3. We both would like to share 50/50 custody of the children. I do NOT want him to pay child support. is there any way in the divorce that it could be set up so that the state of Georgia does not get involved with child support issues?

You do not have to except child support, you can turn it down and just set up custody and visitation. I would just go to court and have everything done there, that way later down the road, if someone gets mad at the other (believe me it will happen about something) there is legal paperwork stating that neither one of you wanted child support and signed off of it (this way no one can go back on the other for years of support, I have seen that happen!). When they talk about child support, that is when you both agree to no support being exchanged between the two of you and then they will just set up custody and visitation. hope this helps. Good luck to you!
