How is is my spouse's income determine for child support calculation if she currently does not work but has the skills and ability to work?

5 years ago my wife and I decided it was best that she quit her job as an accountant (was a CPA), stay at home and raise our child while I worked 40 miles away 55 hours a week. Now she wants a divorce and I'm afraid that the court will deem her income as zero and I will end-up paying a huge child cupport payment. She has the education and experience to get back into Accounting so I would hope her income for purposes of calculating child support should be what she could potential earn. Please let me know if this is corret?

The court will determine child support by your incom not your wifes. She has not worked in the last five years so they won't deem what her incom might of been. Nor will they make her go to work if she choses not to, although I am sure she will. Your child support should be 25% of your incom.
