Husband moving out of the area.

My daughter and her husband are going to be divorcing. They have split up all the assets and everything is ready to proceed with filing the divorce papers. We have a good Parenting Plan ready for him to sign that gives him ample time with their son. Today, he dropped a bomb on us by saying that he is going to move all the way across the valley, some 50 miles, and is going to be living in a house with a friend of his and share the rent. Currently he lives with his parents less than a mile away so we designed the Parenting Plan with that in mind. We don't know this guy so we don't know if we trust him or not. Should we change the Parenting Plan now based on his new address and if so, what should we include? Is there something else we should change to make sure the son is well taken care of. What would you suggest in this case?

You can put a distance on how far a parent can move with a child, but I don't know if you can if he just has visitation rights. As far as who he lives with, I would arrange some kind of meeting and the father's new place with the friend being there, just so you can see the living enviroment. If you don't like what you see, you could always try to get visitation set from the mothers and childs home town only, not sure if it will work, but it might. Just don't sign anything until you check everything out, you can even do your back ground check on the guy he is moving in with using the people search online, I think it cost somewhere around $39.00, but it will be worth it to find out if it's a safe place to be for the child. Hope this helps.. Good luck!
