I am unmarried and pregnant. The "father" of the baby is already threatening me with a custody battle. What can i do?

I know the father is the father but he doesnt think it's his. We will be getting a DNA test. Even though he's not sure if it is his he is already threatening me with taking my unborn daughter away from me as soon as she is born. What are my options and rights to prevent this from happening? Also, he already has another girlfriend who he thinks will be caring for her as well. I dont want that to happen either. I really need some advice on what ways to go about doing this without getting into a big lawsuit and also for the best interest in my daughter. I want wants best for her and I know being with him is not it. Please help me

Unless you are in anyway hurting your child i.e drugs, alcohol or physical abuse etc...he has no legal right to take your child from you. The child at best (for him) he can get joint custody. If you have your child a majority of the time then you will have sole custody with him paying child support, he of course will have visitation rights. Laws vary from state to state country to country but this is the usual outcome.
