I just want to know as much about child custody laws in Kansas as possible

I have a son who lives with me full time, the father sees him occasionally and takes him out of the town that he actually lives in. He also lives in another state, custody has not been established but he is now talking about taking me to court. I want to know if it is illegal for him to take him to a town other than where he lives if I don't agree since my son lives with me full time.
