If guardianship is granted to grandparents

What happens if a child is living with grandparents because she was taken from Mom and she has 15 months to get back on track. Is it in the best interest to have the grand parents go for Guardianship. And will this diminish the rights of both parents. Mother had custody and left her and grandparents stepped in and have kinship but there son is the father will he also be ruled out in the for the guardianship is it is given to his parents. The case is in MO and we live in MN his parents live in MO that is why they have her. Please respond and let me know what is in the best interest for both the child and making sure the father will get rights?

Thank you,
Jennifer

The father always has rights to visitation and time with his child. Whoever is caring for the child needs to have legal guardianship over her so they will have no problems getting her medical treatment should the need arise.
