Is it possible to handle an adoption ourselves?

Hello~ My name is amber sital and we are looking for aide in adopting our son... He is 3 months old and we have guardianship however are finding that the adoption process is expremely expensive. We have 4 other children and are seeking some alternatives in the process. Agencies, filing ourselves... any information would be greatly appreciated. Thankyou for your help

The only time that you would be able for an open adoption is if you are adopting a child from the parental parents and they want you to adopt. If you are trying to adopt a child that you have guardianship of you would need to go though the court to get thier premission for you to file for the adoption. There are alot of issues to consider and that is wheather the child that you have the guardianship of is a family members child ect. In this case I think that you will have to go though the courts. But you really need it done right and you want to make sure it is all legal,in some cases the childs parents have a year to change their mind. So I don't really have enought information to give you alot of advice. You can go online under adoptions and click on your state and then go to information on how to adopt. Hope this helps.
