Was this a case of abduction? Were you kidnapped by the babysitters? If not, and your mother left you with them and never returned, it was a case of abandonment, and your adoption was most likely legal. Checking with a lawyer would be a good idea.

Is my adoption legal????
I found out at age 16 that my parents were not my natural parents, they were in fact my babysitters. I was working for a lawyer a year or so later who decided to do my adoption because I was witnessing legal documents without a legal name. So he drew up adoption papers and my parents (as I knew them ) signed the papers all of my identification was changed to their name legally. My natural Mother nor Father was ever notified of this adoption. Later on I found my Natural Mother when I was 34 yrs old, and she was shocked that the babysitters were allowed to legally adopt me (privately). My adoption records are sealed, can you tell me if my adoption was legal??? I am the only living heir of my natural Mother's side of the family and if I an prove my adoption was illegal it benefit me
