Is there a split in child support money if a second child support order is filed?

My fiance has a 12 y/o son in VA and he has a child support arrangement with the mother. He recently took a paternity test and found out he has another son in NC. He sent them his LES listing the money he pays out (i.e. rent, voluntary child support, car payment). When he called them they stated he must $875 and also must pay from the time they notified him there was a child that could possibly be his. My question is if the mother of his oldest son decides to file for child support, will they split the $875 between the two kids and what is the percentage that each child would receive? Is it too late for him to get a lawyer to try and get that amount reduced?
