Child custody

Our attorney is talking about having joint custody, but making the time split in a five, two, two. Are you aware of this and what does it mean

I have heard of this and I believe that it goes like this: Say you the mother starts the visitation, you would have the children for 5 days then dad for 2 days then mom for 2 days, so say it started on a monday, you would have them mon-fri, then dad tues & weds, then mom thurs & fri, then dad sat-wed. I was told that when I went through my divorce and didn't like it then either. I never did the shared custody thing. I have my kids all the time and ex has viistation every other weekend and share holidays (on the odd/even schedule). Kids need stable homes, not to be bounced all over the place! If you are leaning to the shared custody, maybe think about every 6 months for the switch, then when mom has them, dad can have weekend visits and when dad has them, mom can have weekend visits.
