Joint custody

I have joint custody of my daughter with my ex-wife with her primary residence being with me. However, my ex-wife's visitation was suspended by the courts 2 years ago, and she has had no contact or made no effort to get her visitation reinstated since then. Because we have joint custody, is she still entitled to make decisions regarding the child's life after 2 years of no contact?

Legally, yes. because in the courts eyes, she still has joint custody.

have you thought about going back to the courts and request sole custody?

I am thinking about going back to court to request sole custody, but weren't sure if that would just start a whole new issue, because when she gets served with that request she may start trying to get her visitation back again.
