Medical parental consent for surgery on child

Can an elective surgical procedure be given without both parents' consent when there is joint custody of the child?

If it is for an emg surgery one parent can sign. Joint custody means that you both have a say in decition making it does not mean one or the other can't without the other. You just need to discuss this and hopefully agree. i am sure you both want what is best for the child. If your concerned that any legal charges can be filed if one did not sign then know there would not be any charges.
