The question is above, I just forgot to put a question mark at the end! Are we supposed to meet quarterly to compare expenses for her and then equal up the amounts spent?
It is however it is written into the custody agreement.
I have never really heard of agreements like that. but if it is in the agreement that everything MUST be fair to the cent, then you need to meet and keep receipts.
if it is written in the custody contract, you could try and change it if you think it is pointless to keep having to do this.
Your custody agreement may say joint but normally one parent is the custodial parent. This parent normally claims the child on taxes, etc. and the non-custodial parent pays the childsupport. Unless it is written in your agreement you need not compare expenses. I am the custodial parent for my daughters and I don't have to tell my Ex anything as far as expenses. He pays his child support and I take care of our daughters. Normally, it evens out because I spend more than he does but when he gets visitation all cost are on him (plane fare, food, etc...) and I still receive child support for them even when they are with him.
