Kid's choice

How old does a child have to be to choose where they want to live. Also, if parents have joint legal custody, can one parent give custody to another relative if the other parent disagrees?
Instead of giving away custody, can I childl be emancipated?

Most states consider the child's opinion at age 11 or 12. If you disagree about the custody question you might have to get that resolved in court.
