My Custody Rights!

My daughters mother and I were never married. we seperated about 10 months ago. Do I happen to have any "out of court" legal custody rights? for my state (Utah). meaning that we have not gone to court over custody matters yet! niether of us can afford the cost....
do I have any kind of custody over my dauighter that I could enforce in order to see her no matter what her mother thinks?

Sorry to say that custody is a legal term and if you have not gone to court, then you will have to work out time with your daughter between the two of you. In order to get legal rights to your daughter, you will have to file for joint custody because until the court has assigned custody rights and obligations, you can't have the system enforce it. Does that make sense.

It would cost a couple hundred dollars, but you would have the right to see your daughter and your ex would not be able to keep her away from you. Good luck!
