My husband agreed to me having sole legal custody during our divorce less than two years ago and would now like joint legal

And would now like joint legal custody. I believe he is doing this to harrass me, as usually he lets me do as I please with the children (he let me give them my new husband's last name seven months ago) and doesn't take all of his visitation (took his girlfriend to Belize during his extended visitation month instead of seeind the children)....but he falsely accused me of child abuse over a year ago (which I have the records for from Department of Children and Families). What are his odds of succeeding? How can I protect myself from him bringing me to court to harrass me? We live in Connecticut. The children are 3 1/2 and 2, and they have lived with me since I separated from my ex when they were 20 months and 2 months old.

When you say "he let give the children your husbands last name" do you mean you went to court for that? Because that is, as far as I know, the only legal way to do it. That would mean that he gave up his rights and let your current husband adopt the children. You can't just change their last name and it be legal, you have to go to court (both of you) and the birth certificate would have to be changed along with S.S cards, etc... Is this what happened? If this is how things happened, I would say that he would no longer have any rights to the children, as he signed them off. Need more info to your question to fully answer it.
