My husband's 16 year old daughter wants to come live with us now, how do we stop child support?

My step daughter wants to come live with us now because she hates her mom's husband. I am not sure she would state in court that she wants to live with us though. She is just hoping her mom will seperate from her husband and then she can go back home. However, it is hard to have her live with us and continue to send child support to her mother, who is not supporting her. what can we do?

Your husband needs to file in court a petition to modify the court order for custody. Most judges will talk to the child in chambers and ask them their preference if they are old enough in your specific state. If and when the court grants custody to your husband and yourself you would send the information to Child support and they will change the amount that you have to pay.
