My son and my son's father have not lived in the same state, can i still get child support for him?

I used to live in texas and i got pregnant when i lived there but i moved to south carolina while pregnant and still live there now. Is it possible for me to get child support for my son even though he and his father have never lived in the same state?

Yes, you can still get child support.

you might just have to file it in the state that you were born, and make sure he was on the birth certificate as the legal father

The father isn't on the birth certificate because he is denying my son. He has sent us money to help out, on occasion, but is refusing to take a paternity test. I was just wondering when I get the test done and he's proven the father, will I be able to get child support?
