I hve joint custody of my son. Can I move out of state?

I have joint custody of my son, however I want to move to Kansas City, Missouri. Can I do this and recieve full custody of my son? His father doesn't pay child support but he does see his son regularly.

If you have joint custody then you need the fathers ok to move out of state. Visitations and child support no longer go hand in hand. However if he is not paying child support I would take him back to court. You also have the option to file a motion with the court asking premmission to move if it is giving you a better chance to care for your children the judge may allow it. Make sure you tell the judge he does not pay child support, you are being the one to support the children you should be able to move. Maybe he should try paying support before he thinks he can have some say in what you do.
