Child Custody

Me and my boyfriend have been living together for almost 2yrs (not married) and we have a son who is 17mths old. I have been thinking about leaving my boyfriend, but haven't yet because I need to be sure that I will have custody of my son. I pay for everything that my son needs and his father hasn't done anything for him except buy one box of diapers because I yelled at him to go do it. When I tell him to watch our son for a few minutes so I can shower he throws a fit over it. I go to work, pick our son up from his grandparents, feed him, bathe him, play with him, and then put him to bed. His father works late hours, but even when he gets off of work early he always finds something else he has to go do and doesn't spend anytime with our son. I don't care about getting child support from his father, all I want is full custody because I can't count on his father to take care of him. Please Help.

He is your boyfrien not your husband. All you have to do is file a motion with the court and ask for sole custody,he will be able to get visitations and the court will order child support at that time and child support is not up to the parent it is up to the court. Do this because if you do not you will not have legal custody. It has to be though the court inorder to be legal.
