Custody of a 8 months old girl

I am a single mother. When I got pregnant with my daughter my boyfriend decided to leave me,and a week later after he left told me he is with somebody else.I went thrue pregnancy alone,he never called once to ask about it.On the night I had my daughter my mom called him and told him that I had a baby girl.He did come to the hospital and right away started telling me he wants her every other weekend and soo on.He did not forget to tell me how his girlfriend has a problem with the baby. Now that my daughter is 8 monht old he wants to take her for the weekend at his parents house, where his girlfriend will be(not forget that she still has a problem with my daughter).I am really scared for my daughter.I did not say anything to him about the problem I am having since he is a MILITARY officer with a good job so I am scared if I start talking to him about his girlfriend he just might do something to take my daughter away from me.What am I going to do?He is leaving on a tour to Iraq for 14 months, but when he comes back I belive that he will want my daughter every weekend.I am fine with my daughter beeing with him but not with his girlfriend. Also I know him and his short temper. He is not on the B.Certificat at all. What rights do I have and can I get soul custody?

Whether or not he is on the birth certificate doesn't matter....it only makes it easier for him when he files a motion for establishment of paterninty with the courts. That is the only way he has any legal rights to see that child. Not the birth certificate or paying child support. So if you feel your childs life is in danger wait it out and have him file the proper paperwork to get it going to see the child. If he doesnt he has no legal rights in the courts eyes and anything you do above and beyond is just being nice. When he does file..make sure you note your concerns and have them addressed. Him being an officer doesn't make a difference in civilian courts...except say something about his character...Good Luck.
